Buying a cast iron skillet was one of the best decisions I ever made for my kitchen. It takes a little extra care to clean, but it is well worth it. The only problem I ran into was not having any covers for the handles. Not only that, but ones that matched my kitchen aesthetic. The ones I made matched my kitchen towels and my oven mitts, which made everything looked like they belonged together.
Use
These stay on my cast iron skillet pretty much all the time, whether it is in use or sitting dormant on the stove. One of the benefits of the small handle is that it also fits on the top of the cover.
Care
These are easy to throw in the laundry with any other kitchen towels.
Design options
The inner part of these cast iron skillet covers are made out of heat proof fabrics, but the outer fabric can be made out of several different fabrics. I would suggest any woven cotton fabric, which can come in any pretty much any color or design.
